A 20 year old businessman has been murdered by unknown thugs at Gandali village, in the area of Traditional Authority M’duwa in the district.

Mchinji police publicist Limbani Mpinganjira confirmed of the development and identified the deceased as Petros Kabowa Mariko.

According to Mpinganjira, Kabowa was murdered on his way to a shop.

It is said that the suspect commonly known as Samuel was chasing his brother-in-law after picking a quarrel, and mistook him for the deceased before hitting him with a blunt object on the head and died on the spot.

Meanwhile, police have launched a manhunt for the suspect.
