A 22-year-old poultry seller identified as Petro Nyama has been found dead in a decomposed state in an unused shop near Balaka Tarven.

A police report indicate that, on 10 January 2023 the Chairperson for Balaka Main Market was informed by his fellow business personnel that they alerted by flies and a foul smell coming from the said shop.

Balaka Police Publicist Chisomo Potani Kanyimbi said that police are not suspecting any foul play.

A postmortem conducted by medical personnel from Balaka health facility revealed that death was due to hypoglycemia (taking alcohol on an empty stomach).
