Prophet Shepherd Bushiri on Monday met former President Dr. Bakili Muluzi, founder of the opposition United Democratic Front (UDF) at his official residence in BCA in the commercial capital Blantyre.
Bushiri has confirmed of the meeting in a statement released by his Public Relations Officer Ephraim Nyondo seen by this publication.
According to the statement, Muluzi invited Bushiri to appreciate the role he is playing in supporting cyclone freddy survivors in Mulanje District.
“As the Malawi’s Ambassador of Goodwill, Dr Muluzi invited the Prophet and his team to appreciate and encourage us on the work being done of complementing government’s efforts in responding to effects of tropical cyclone Freddy, which has killed and displaced thousands in the country.
“Tiyeni Tigwirane Manja, as President Lazarus Chakwera always tells us,” reads in part the statement.
Bushiri has so far adopted 8 camps in Mulanje and he has also promised to assist over 500 families to recover from the cyclone Freddy.
