Prophet Shepherd Bushiri of the Enlightened Christian Gathering (ECG) has today reached out to 1300 people affected by hunger in the area of Sub Traditional Authority Nkhanga in Nkhotakota district with maize support.

The maize has been distributed at Chipelela Primary School in the district.

Spokesperson for Prophet Bushiri, Aubrey Kusakala, said this demonstrates their commitment in supporting people affected by persistent droughts as well floods which have led to hunger this lean season.

According to Kusakala this week alone they have released twelve trucks which is more than 14,500 bags of maize targeting around 14,500 households nationwide.

Village Head Kakopa of the area said the hunger situation has worsened commending the Prophet for the support.
