President and founder of Enlightened Christian Gathering (ECG) Prophet Shepherd Bushiri on Thursday hosted a birthday dinner in celebration of his wife Mary Bushiri’s birthday at Bingu International Convention Centre (BICC) in Lilongwe.

Speaking during the occasion, Bushiri stressed that his wife plays a very significant role in their family life hence she is worthy to be celebrated.

He further said Mary has been an instrumental key partner in his prophetic ministry journey as well a his spiritual life.

“Despite all the challenges I have been passing through, my wife has been my support system, am very delighted to have her and today I will not offer anything in terms of material or any other substantial gifts but my special gift will be a special prayer,” said Bushiri.

Speaking earlier, Apostle Justice Hara, who is an associate to bushiri advised young women to emulate Mary in order for them to have happy and successful families.

“Mary has been a key partner in life of Prophet Bushiri in thin and thick, as a Church we are very pleased to commemorate during this special occasion, young women should set good example as that of mary whom I can describe as true definition of a noble woman,” said Hara.

The event was spiced up with music by renowned artist Pisky who mesmerised the proceedings with his song titled itsanana which bushiri described it as his wife’s favourite song.

The ceremony was graced by Inkosi ya Makosi Gomani IV and his wife, Prophet Babe Angel of Spirit Embassy United Kingdom, Chief Executive Officer of Lilongwe City Council Dr McCloud Kadammanja, Malawi Congress Party Secretary General Eisenhower Mkaka, Senior officials from both private and public sector and international visitors who came to bear witness.
