The funeral ceremony for late Senior Chief Kapichi of Thyolo is underway at Khonjeni headquarters in the district.

Deputy Minister of Local Government, Unity and Culture, Owen Chomanika and Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) vice president for Eastern region Bright Msaka are among scores of people who have come to pay their last respects to the departed traditional leader.

The chief died of high blood pressure and diabetes on 7 July 2023 at Malamulo Mission hospital.
