Body of a Fisherman found in a decomposed state

A body of a fisherman aged 36 has been found in a decomposed state on Lake Chirwa in Machinga.

The fisherman was identified as White Kayson, from Mlaka village, Traditional Authority Mposa in the district.

It was reported that Kayson went missing on Wednesday where after going at Lake Chirwa for fishing.

Machinga Police publicist, Western Kansire said Kayson left home for fishing on January 18, 2023 without coming back home.

According to Kansire, the relatives of the deceased were surprised seeing that Kayson did not come back home and they started searching for him before finding his body at the lake.

Kansire said when police arrived at the scene they found the body of fisherman stuck in mud.

Postmortem conducted at at Mchilima Health Center shows that he died of suffocation secondary to drowning.
