A body of a baby believed in the age ranges 18 to 24 months has been found floating in the Shire River at Kamuzu Barrage in Liwonde, Machinga district.

The district’s hospital spokesperson, Clifton Ngozo has confirmed receiving the body.

“The body came in oozing blood from the nose and ears with bruises and a broken neck bones, which indicates intended strangulation secondary to assault before it was dumped in the water, “said Ngozo.

A fishermen discovered the body on Wednesday.

Police are yet to comment on the matter.
