The Blantyre City Council ((BCC) has said it will demolish any structure that will be elected in disaster prone areas across the city.

In a statement BCC Chief Executive Officer Dennis Chinseu said such fragile areas include Streams and Hills.

Among others Chinseu has mentioned Ndirande, Soche, Bangwe, Nyambadwe, Mpingwe and Mthawira Hills as area that are being prohibited.

BCC has threatened that it will prosecute anybody found erecting structures in those areas after this publication.
