Information reaching this publication indicates that Director of Health and Social Services for Blantyre City Council Emmanuel Kanjunjunju has died.

Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) Councillor for Blantyre City Soche East Ward Leonard Chimbanga has confirmed of the development in a statement posted on his official Facebook page.

“I am heartbroken and saddened by the death of Our Director of Health who is also Our Secretary of Health & Environment service Committee Dr Kanjunjunju (to my Left in a dark blue top). Yesterday we had spoken and planned on meeting today.

“We had so many great plans regarding our work in dealing with HIV. He was a friend who was always cheerful. Moyowu ndiwaufupi inu. You are here today mawa kulibe,” wrote Chimbanga.

The cause of his death is not known at the moment.
