BCC Investigates Theft Of Bus Shelters Along Masauko Chipembere Highway

Blantyre City Council (BCC) has launched an investigation into the theft of five bus shelters along the busy Masauko Chipembere Highway.

According to Capital FM, the shelters have been vandalized during Easter holiday a situation that has forced travelers to be exposed to direct sun or rains.

Further reports by Capital FM indicate that some of the shelters were removed by unknown people who disguised as BCC workers and used a lorry to carry the structures.

Commenting on the matter, BCC Spokesperson Deborah Luka said, the incident is a setback to the council’s efforts of improving infrastructure

Currently, BCC is working together with police to arrest the suspects.
