Silver Strikers FC have topped the TNM Super League log table with 18 points after a 1-0 win against Kamuzu Barracks FC on Sunday afternoon at Civo Stadium.
The Central Bankers are the only unbeaten side in the 2023 TNM super league with 18 points from 8 games.
Stain Dave’s 19th minute goal ceiled the Banker’s victory after Kamuzu Barracks impressive attacks into the second half failed to level the scoreline.
Silver Strikers have won back-to-back, following 4-1 victory to Bangwe All Stars last Sunday.
Speaking after the game Silver Strikers Head Coach Hendrikus Pieter de Jongh praised his players for working hard into the second half.
Chimwemwe Idana was Man of the Match for the fourth time, and went away with TNM Mpamba of K50, 000.
Currently, Kamuzu Barracks have played 8 games soliciting 8 points making them sit on 13th position of the log table.
Meanwhile, at Karonga Stadium, Mighty Wanderers FC became second on log table on goal difference after beating Karonga United 2-1, in a very competitive and physical game. Lawrence Chaziya scored his first goal for the Nomads after captain Stanley Sanudi slotted in a freekick in the second minute of the game.
Karonga United levelled in the 51st minute of the match, which caused panic to their counterpart. However, their impressive pressure failed to yield results.
In the 66th minutes, Wanderers ceiled the game through Isaac Kaliati’s goal that made his team grab 3 points from the pitch where their fierce rival FC Nyasa Big Bullets went down to Chitipa United on Saturday.
On the other hand, the home side, Karonga United have accumulated 10 points in 8 games and are on position eight.
After the match, Mighty Wanderers Head Coach Mark Harisson praised his players for the hard work.
However, Karonga United Head Coach, Kondwa Ikwanga conceded the defeat but promised to correct the mistake.
