Balaka Demonstrations Shifted To August 11

The Advocacy for Eastern Region Development (AFERD) has shifted the August 11 demonstrations to August 15, following a request from Balaka Police.

Balaka Police Officer Incharge Dan saulten said this is a security concern as law enforcers will be engaged with the Junior Certificate of Education Examination.

AFERD chairperson Madalitso Banda has assured that the protests will be peaceful.

The grouping is demanding the Ministry of Transport and Public Works to rehabilitate the Chingeni, Balaka, Machinga road which is in a bad state.
