The Lilongwe Senior Resident Magistrate (SRM) Court is today set to make a bail ruling on a case involving 4 Roads Fund Administration (RFA) Kalinyeke Tollgate employees accused of fraud.

The 4 officers are Gedson Dziwani, Benson Kamphani, Vincent Chiteyeye, and David Chihana.

According to Central West Region Police publicist Alfred Chimthere, the suspects have been are charged with 2 counts of fraud and false accounting, and theft by public servants.

About MK9 million is alleged to have been swindled by the suspects between the months of February and March 2022.

During the case which was brought before the court yesterday, State prosecutor, Cecelia Zangazanga applied for a 10-day remand period for the suspects in order to complete investigations on the case.

The suspects’ lawyer, Innocent Kubwalo has since applied for bail and SRM Florence Msekandiana is expected to deliver her ruling on the application this afternoon.
