Zomba City Council has dismissed reports that the picture circulating on social media of Namiwawa dual carriage is a round about as depicted on different social media platforms.

Over the weekend social media users in the country was engaged in a hefty debate of the facility which was described as substandard.

The debate did not just end on social media as some people went as far as destroying.

Before it was destroyed

Speaking on the matter, Zomba city Mayor Davie Maunde said the now destroyed facility was not a roundabout but a mere hole surrounded by bricks, dismissing social media reports.

According to Maunde, it was put that way to serve as an alert for road users to prevent accidents considering that the contractor on the site had gone to holiday.

He then added that a proper roundabout will be constructed on the road once the works are done.
