Arrest Made in Chikwawa Over Property Loss Amid Child Kidnapping Rumors

Ngabu police in Chikwawa have arrested 32-year-old Isiah Soza for allegedly inciting violence that led to the loss of property.

Police spokesperson, Sergeant Dickson Matemba, alleges that the suspect told people at a drinking joint yesterday that a businessman, Mabvuto Jamali, was keeping a 9-year-old girl who went missing on October 13, 2023.

Irate villagers thus mobilized themselves and stormed Jamali’s house at Ganamba village Traditional Authority Ngabu, where they broke into the businessman’s house.

They went away with various properties valued at undisclosed amounts.

The incident has led to the arrest of Isiah Soza for his alleged role in inciting violence.

Soza is now in custody, facing charges related to the property loss and unrest caused by the rumors about the missing child.
