Armed robber stoned to death at First Capital Bank premises in Lilongwe

Information reaching this publication indicates that an armed robbery has been stoned to death by angry mob in Likuni, Lilongwe after he attempted to rob First Capital Bank.

It is said that the armed thief entered the bank as a customer and went to a teller asking for money.

“He was wearing a helmet and a mask. After being told he could not get the money without withdrawal slips, he then took his two guns and shot one of the glasses on one teller,” an eye witness told this publication.

Due to fear, the teller released the money and the robber sneaked out of the bank immediately.

“As he was about to ride his motorcycle, the suspect bumped into a group of an angry mob which started stoning him.

“He kept shooting but people overpowered him. One person has of course been shot,” added the source.

The law enforcers are currently on the scene.

Meanwhile, the bank has been temporally closed for business.
