Anti-Martha Chizuma vigil set for Parliament called off

Some concerned citizens trading under the banner ‘Mbadwa Zokhuzidwa’ have postponed the vigil aimed at forcing President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera to fire Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Director General Martha Chizuma over leaked audio.

The grouping was scheduled to start the vigils today at Parliament building in the capital Lilongwe.

Leader of the grouping Redson Munlo has confirmed of the development in an interview with the press, saying the development follows a plea from police to ask for extra 48 hours to organise security that will man the vigils at parliament building.

The grouping was scheduled to hold the vigils for a period of 7 days and if no action is taken by the authority, the group planned to close down ACB offices.
