Ana a M’mudzi says the delay to hand over pieces of land to outstanding TNM Super League players and coach was due to the awardees’ tight schedules.

The organisation pledged to reward the player of the season, best goalkeeper, defender, midfielder, golden boot winner and best coach with pieces of land in Lunzu, Blantyre.

But in an interview yesterday, a representative of Ana a M’mudzi, Dorothy Kachitsa, said it was a challenge to have all the awardees at one place for the function.

their tight schedules

She said: “We had situations whereby maybe two of them were in camp with the national football team or they were preoccupied with other things.

“So, we have resolved to do the handovers individually according to their availability,” she said.

To that effect, Kachitsa said the first piece of land will be handed over today.

In an interview yesterday, Super League of Malawi general secretary Williams Banda confirmed that the plots have not been handed over, “but the processes are being followed”.

FCB Nyasa Bullets left-back Gomezgani Chirwa, who was named player of the season and best defender, is expected to get two plots.

His team-mate Patrick Mwaungulu, who was named midfielder of the season, will get a plot so too will Brightone Munthali of Blue Eagles, who won the goalkeeper award and his team-mate McDonald Lameck who was named rookie of the season.

Others are former Bullets forward Babatunde Adepoju, who won the Golden Boot and the People’s Team coach Kalisto Pasuwa
