Mulanje Secondary School Alumni Association has donated 46 beds and 30 mattresses worth K3 million to their former school.
Speaking during the handover on Saturday, the group’s chairperson Denis Wachepa said they contributed resources to buy beds and mattresses for the school.

He said: “Although there is still acute shortage of mattresses and beds, we feel we have addressed the need partly.
“However, we have learned that the school needs at least two classroom blocks to accommodate Form One students.”
Wachepa commended the head teacher for the school’s improved selection to public universities in the past two years.
Mulanje Secondary School head teacher Wilfred Nyapwala commended the former students for their gesture.
Some of the notable people who learned at the institution include former Cabinet minister Ken Lipenga, retired Malawi Defence Force commander general Griffin Supuni Phiri, Professor Frank Taulo, Minister of Tourism, Wildlife and Culture Michael Usi, High Court Judge Mandala Mambulasa, former diplomat Chimango Chirwa and Nation Publications Limited deputy chief executive officer Alfred Ntonga.
