All is set for Reconciliation Day celebrations

The government has said that the preparations for “the day of reconciliation” have come to an end, and the event will be held on Thursday at Chilimampunga in Mtandire, Lilongwe.

The Minister of Local Government, Unity and Culture Richard Chimwendo Banda told journalists in Lilongwe today, that the purpose of the event is to promote unity, and the event will cost the government 100 million Malawi kwacha.

Chimwendo said that political, religious and cultural groups will come together and enjoy together regardless of their differences.

President Lazarus Chakwera is the one to preside over the ceremony which will include dancing and many other activities that will entertain people.
