Owner of Masters Security Company Alfred Gangata has been appointed as Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) Vice President for the South.

Gangata replaces Zelia Chakale who resigned from the post months ago and joined the ruling Malawi Congress Party (MCP).

DPP Administrative Secretary Francis Mphepo has confirmed of the development in a letter dated February 19, 2024 seen by this publication.

Gangata’s appointment is with immediate effect.
