The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has revealed that it has launched an investigation into the alleged corrupt procurement of a Mercedes-benz by Minister of Natural Resources Eisenhower Mkaka.

The development follows a request by the Center for Community Development Initiative (CDEDI) to investigate Mkaka on the matter.

The graft basting body has also said that it is screening the complaint of dubious accumulation of allowances by government officials at the office of the Accountant General.

The allowance scandal has seen the arrest of over ten officers at the office of the Accountant General.
