A MAN SENTENCED 9 YEARS IMPRISONMENT FOR BURGLARY AND THEFT IN MANGOCHI

Mangochi Second Grade Magistrate Court has sentenced a man to nine years imprisonment with hard labour for burglary and theft contrary to Section 309(a) and 278 of penal code.

State Prosecutor for Mangochi Police Amos Mwase identified the convict as Kim Davie aged 49 who broke the house of Ellen Naura stole property amounting to K751, 000 on 2 March this year.

Second Grade Magistrate Baxter Chikalimba, pleaded Kim Davie guilty and  sentenced him Davie to 81 months for the first count of house breaking and 27 months for the second count and that the sentence should run concurrently making it 9 years Imprisonment.
