A 17 year-old man Daniel Harare a student at Milpark Private Secondary School in Mwanza has committed suicide  by hanging himself  due to unknown reasons.

Mwanza Police deputy spokesperson, Hope Kasakula said before the incident Harare was playing football with his friends Sunday afternoon and he then excused himself to fetch water at a nearby borehole but he took forever to return.

Kasakula also added that his friends grew suspicious and followed him and on their way, they met a man who told them he had found a man hanging to a mango tree at a maize field near the school.

Reasons for Harare’s action remain unknown though police suspect it might have been due to depression as reports say he had impregnated a girl from the same school.

Headteacher, Evance Kampheta has since described the incident as sad development and heart-breaking for being the first tragic story ever since the school’s establishment in 2008.

“Daniel was a quiet and stress free boy m, nobody expected him to do this,” says Kampheta.

Meanwhile, remains of Harare will be laid to rest at his home village in Ntcheu District.
