Concerned Citizens to go ahead with Anti-Govt Demos despite Kalindo’s U-Turn

Barely days after political activist cum-comedian, Bon Kalindo announced the suspension of demonstrations his group had planned, his number two, Levi Luwemba, says what Kalindo communicated should be disregarded as there were no consultations on the decision.

Luwemba made these sentiments on Saturday while addressing the press in Lilongwe.

Luwemba said that they regret personalizing the grouping as Kalindo’s organization while adding that they have now realized that a concerned citizens group cant be owned by one individual.

He further said the demos cannot be suspended as there are many unsolved issues such as the shortage of Urea on the market, corruption, cooking oil prices, and increased water tariffs.

Meanwhile, Luwemba has also disclosed that he was not part of the decision made by Kalindo and this is why he wasn’t part of the briefing held by Kalindo last week Thursday.

“Since Kalindo has decided to move to charity work, we will continue advocating for change. Mwina atolankhani sanakuuzeni ku press briefing yawo koma ife atiuza kuti akubanja kwawo awaletsa mademo chifukwa choti aboma akuwamanga kwambiri” said Luwemba.

Luwemba has said to avoid fighting with Kalindo on the ‘concerned citizens’ name, he has formed his organization called ‘Center for Democracy Watch’.

He has since disclosed that soon they will announce dates for fresh demos
