Ashok Nair (born Kumar Sreedharan) a business associate of Zuneth Sattar arrested by Anti-Corruption Beaurea (ACB) before making bail, has bolted the country.

On 29th December, 2021 the Bureau arrested Zuneth Sattar’s agent Nair in Lilongwe.

Nair is suspected to have been giving bribes to politicians in exchange for some business contracts to companies belonging to Sattar in a matter in which Former Minister of Lands Kezzie Msukwa, was implicated.

The Development however concedes Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Steven Kayuni’s refusal to grant the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) consent to prosecute businessman Zuneth Sattar’s agent Kumar Sreedharan, also known as Ashok Nair, and four [names withheld] others on grounds of lack of supporting documents.

Meanwhile, the Lawyer representing Nair, Wapona Kita has asked for more time to comment on the matter.
