MyBucks introduces WhatsApp Banking – The Times Group Malawi

KALIZANG’OMA—Most of our clients use WhatsApp

MyBucks Banking Corporation has launched a WhatsApp banking service.

Through the initiative, the bank’s clients are expected to have easy access to banking services.

Among other things, the bank’s clients will now have access to mini statements, account balance and check their loan dues through the platform.

MyBucks Bank Head of Retail and SME Banking Mayamiko Kalizang’oma said the move was inspired by the realisation that most of the bank’s clients use WhatsApp.

“After conducting research on our customers, we discovered that most of our clients use WhatsApp and we thought it wise to make available the services that would normally require them to visit banking halls accessible at their fingertips via the WhatsApp platform,” he said.

Kalizang’oma said the move is in line with the bank’s purpose, which is to make people’s lives better through convenient and simplified partnerships.

“WhatsApp has an end-to-end encryption and we have put in place measures to ensure the safety of our clients and we encourage our clients not to share passwords with anyone,” he said.

The service also includes features that will help clients navigate nearby ATMs and branch locations.
