Lawyers of former Blantyre City, deputy mayor, David Makwinja, has today requested for seven days to submit to the courts sworn statements on their application seeking to extend an injunction on the re-election of the city’s mayor, Wild Ndipo for a third time.
Lead lawyer for the applicant, Noel Supedi, confirmed the development shortly after a virtual court session before high court judge Dingiswayo Madise.
Blantyre City council held its mayoral elections on January 19, 202. But at that time it was unclear that Makwinja had obtained the stay order.
