Man escapes Police in Lilongwe, Leaves Behind 15 Bags of AIP Fertilier

Police in Lilongwe is hunting for a man only identified as Damiano Kanyala on suspicion that he was possessing 15 bags of AIP fertilizer without supporting documents at Chitsime ADMARC on February 01, 2022.

Lilongwe Police patrol team known as Zone 1, was on its daily business visiting AIP selling points in the district.

Upon reaching Chitsime ADMARC AIP selling point at around 15:00 hours, the law enforcers were greeted by a group of disgruntled farmers who complained about unfairness in the way the business of selling AIP commodities is being done at the facility.

They also tipped the law enforcers of fertilizer bags being hidden by a vendor in one of the nearby rooms which according to them were bought illegally.

When the police made a follow-up, they found the said bags in a tea room just next to the ADMARC building.

However, when the suspected owner of the said bags saw police advancing to where he and the fertilizer bags were, he bolted.

Currently, the said vendor is still at large, but the fertilizer bags are being kept at Lilongwe Police Station.

Police investigations to establish how the said commodity fell into the hands of the bolted suspect are ongoing.
