Members of Chiradzulu Link, Lilongwe Chapter, have rehabilitated three cooking pots for Chiradzulu District Hospital at the tune of K1.8 million.

“This is a local initiative in partnership with the hospital and our goal is to raise resources and supplies to complement hospitals to serve their surrounding communities.

“Chiradzulu being our home district, we thought it wise to share the little that we have with the community we come from.  We contributed the money for this project and we hope it will ease some of the problems the facility is facing,” he said.

In his remarks, Chiradzulu District Hospital assistant administrator, Synod Chavula, hailed Chiradzulu Link for its intervention, saying for the past months, the hospital was using a single pot, which created pressure as patients were not eating at the right time.

He said: “The funds we receive from the government sometimes are not enough to meet all the challenges the hospital is currently facing.”
