6 People arrested for possessing live pangolin in Rumphi

Rumphi police station Tupeliwe Kabwiro has confirmed of the development, saying the suspects were arrested during the night of January 28, 2022 at Sameda Lodge in the district.

According to Kabwiro police detectives were on patrol, in the process came across the suspects.

Then one from the team posed as buyer. Immediately, the six suspects came with the pangolin so that they could negotiate the price.

In the process, the officers arrived and arrested them and charged them with the offence of found in possession of listed species and they will appear soon before court.

The suspects are Ambere Mshani 31 from Chitipa, Kennedy Tembo 52, Mchinji, Yozgani Kumwenda 49, Simon Tembo 36, Malamulo Jere 45 and Brighton Shaba 49, all from Mzimba.
