AFCON: Comoros To Face Cameroon Without Goalie

Comoros National Football Team will today play against the host Cameroon at the ongoing TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) without a recognized goal keeper as Coronavirus has terrorized their camp.

Reports indicate Comoros’ three goalkeepers are unavailable and some have tested positive for Coronavirus.

Moyadh Ousseini and Ali Ahamada are in isolation after testing positive for the virus, while Salim Ben Boina is ruled out through injury which means one of the outfield players will be in goal.

According to assistant coach Daniel Padovanni, they’ve already chosen an outfield player who will start as keeper.

Salim Ben Boina was injured in their final Group C match while defenders Kassim Abdallah and Alexis Souahy, midfielders Nakibou Aboubakari and Yacine Bourhane and forward Mohamed M’changama are all out of the game, while coach Amir Abdou also tested positive.

They reached the knockout stages after beating Ghana 3-2 and finishing third in Group C.
