A man identified as Cassim Mbulimbuli has died after being hit by a moving coal train in Machinga.

Machinga police publicist Wersten Kansire said Mbulimbuli was feeding cattle along the rail line at Namanja in the district and said the train hit him as he tried to cross the line without realising the coming locomotive.

Kansire said the train, which was coming from Nayuchi also hit and killed three cattle during the accident.
