A 29-year-old man, Tony Mulungu from Tondola village in the area of Senior Chief Mwaulambia in Chitipa has committed suicide for reasons yet to be known.

Chitipa police deputy publicist Mathews Bright Mfune says; “On Saturday, Mulungu left home for their maize field where he was later discovered hanging in a tree and postmortem showed that death was due to suffocation secondary to strangulation.”

Meanwhile, police in the district are urging people to always seek advice from authorities or visit Victim Support Unit for counselling and psycho-social support whenever they meet challenges rather than taking their own life.
