Lilongwe Magistrate Court has sentenced a 19 years old boy identified as Rashid Yohane 14 year’s imprisonment for stealing a lap top and for stabbing a women to death.

Police said that the woman, Rashid Yohane, stab was wife of his former boss. Yohane killed the woman because he was paying back his boss for sending him to prison when stored money from him during the time he was working for him.

Police Spokesperson in Lilongwe Hastings Chigalu said the police told the court that Yohane stored his boss’s money, amount of K970, 000.

Yohane stored the money at the place where he was working last year and he was arrested by the police.

Richard Kandeya Magistrate Assistant Superintendent told the court that Yohane was granted bail because some of the money that he stored was found. The amount of the money that was found was K900 000. But Yohane was mad at his boss for calling the police on him to arrest him and he wanted to pay back.

He also said that during the time Yohane was on a bail he started searching where his boss stay and found out that he stays in Area 36.

Last year on 12 June he went at his boss house around 10:00 am he found a woman who was a maid and started stabbing her thinking that it was his boss’s wife.

Neighbor’s started looking for Yohane and they found him hiding in a ceiling he was holding a laptop wealth K1.5 million and took him to police.

Shukran Kumbani Senior Resident Magistrate has sentenced 14 years imprisonment for stealing and his expected to receive another sentence for killing a person.

Rashid Yohane was once sentenced 3 years imprisonment for stealing K970 000.

Rashid Yohane hail from Mujini Village in Dedza.
