Police in Mchinji have arrested two men for allegedly being found in possession of 3 bags of cannabis sativa without permit.

Spokesperson for Mchinji Police Limban Mpinganjira, has identified the two as Elias James aged 30 and Daniel Nkhoma, 28.

According to Mpinganjira, the two were arrested after police being tipped that the suspects had three bags of hemp weighing 50kg each heading to Kamwendo market in the district.

The suspect are now in police custody and they will soon appear in court to answer charges leveled against them.

Elias James hails from Mlonyeni village while Zulu village both in Mchinji District.
