Principal Resident Magistrate Rodrick Michongwe has granted bail to well-known human right defender Bon Kalindo who was arrested two days ago.

Kalindo was arrested on grounds of publishing material likely to cause public alarm.

Giving his ruling this morning Michongwe blamed the state for rushing to arrest the suspect without first of all finalizing their investigations.

However Kalindo will remain in custody as he awaits another bail ruling this afternoon on charges bordering on possession of a fire arm without a licence.
