Chiukepo Hangs Up His Boots At 36

A good dancer knows when to leave the stage, Malawi national team striker Chiukepo Msowoya has retired from active football at the age of 36 after playing for 20 years.

Chiukepo, who was recently playing for Mighty Mukuru Wanderers in 2022-2023 season, has announced his retirement through his Facebook page today on 8 March 2024.

“I’ve had the privilege to be a professional football player for almost 20 years now and I feel incredibly thankful for the opportunity,” reads the post.

In his football career, Chiukepo played for Red Lions, Eskom United, Orlando Pirates, Golden Arrows, Platinum Stars in South Africa, CD Costa Dol So and Muculmana in Mozambique, and he has fished his career in his motherland at Might Mukuru wanderers after playing for FCB Big Bullets.

Chiukepo signed out saying that he is now looking forward to everything in front of him which is his wife and his beautiful daughters.

Chiukepo Yakubu Msowoya alias Zlatan 14, finished his career in style as he bags Golden Boot in 2022-23 Castel Challenge Cup.
