Police in Zomba are investigating an incident wherein a police officer allegedly hacked a fellow officer at a drinking joint.

Police spokesperson for Zomba police station, Patricia Sipiliano, confirmed the incident, saying proper procedures will be taken after the investigations.

A report indicated that on March 2, the two officers picked up an argument after one of them tried to stop a well-wisher from buying beer.

The injured officer has been identified as Innocent Moyo, while the suspected assailant with broken bottle is known as Jumbe.
