Lilongwe Police Station has donated equipment to a community policing forum in Traditional Authority Chingala in the district.
The equipment included reflector jackets and a bicycle.
Speaking on Tuesday during the handover, the station’s officer-in-charge Clement Gulo said it was important to equip community policing forums to enable them serve people better.

“Use the materials to the intended purposes because you are our representatives in the community,” he said.
Gulo also urged traditional leaders to support security groups, saying they are vital in preventing crime.
Group village head Nkhalamba Nkunda thanked the station for revamping community policing structures.
“The equipment will motivate members to work hard since they offer their services voluntarily,” he said.
Chingala Community Policing Forum chairperson Dishani Lenison said they will continue to serve the community.
Recently, the station’s officers have been visiting the area to revamp community policing structures.
