CROCODILE KILLS A MAN IN LILONGWE RIVER

A 28-year-old man, Miseki Matani, met his demise after being attacked by a crocodile in the Lilongwe River while fetching firewood in the Gumbo area near Kauma.

The man encountered the reptile while he was crossing the river to return home.

According to Lingadzi Police spokesperson Maria Kumwenda, another man who witnessed the incident rushed to inform the villagers.

“Community members rushed to search for Miseki and found his lifeless body floating in the water, with one of his arms and thigh missing” explained Kumwenda.

Currently, the police are advising people not to cross the swollen river during this rainy season.
