The opposition Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) has cancelled the much awaited blue parade scheduled to be held in the capital Lilongwe today.
Initially the event was scheduled to be held on Wednesday this week but it was shifted to today after it collided with a cleaning up exercise organized by Malawi Congress Party (MCP) youths at Kamuzu Banda’s mausoleum.
DPP Director of Youth from Central Region Osward Chirwa has confirmed of the development in a statement released yesterday.
“Hello my fellow blue family members.
“I am here to announce the postponed of Central region blue Parade. The date will be announced on Monday. The massage should be sent in all our DPP forums,” said Chirwa.
Meanwhile, it is not yet known as to why the party has called off the blue parade.
