A 17-year-old boy was killed by thieves in Ntchisi district when he was caught trying to steal a television set from a house.

According to Ntchisi Police spokesperson Salomy Zyambo, the boy’s name was Synoden Gomani.

Zyambo said on February 14, 2024, Gomani broke into Divason Chimangeni’s house with the intention of stealing the television set.

Upon being caught, Gomani produced a knife and threatened to kill the owners who shouted for assistance and flocked to the scene, beating him severely.

When the police arrived at the scene, they found the boy badly injured and rushed him to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Synoden Gomani hailed from Ziyenera Village, under the jurisdiction of Chief Kalumo in Ntchisi district.
