An angry mob has allegedly assaulted to death, a man suspected of murdering a girl at Chiphikira village, INkosi Masasa in Ntcheu.

The deceased Gift Banda is suspected of murdering his 18 year-old niece who was found dead in the area Wednesday with cuts on her neck and head.

Group village headman Yoyola told Zodiak Broadcasting Station (ZBS) that the mob descended on the suspect to avenge the death after the burial ceremony hence stoning Banda to death. They also set the dead body ablaze.

He said the mob has also demolished the deceased parent’s house.

Police in the district are yet to comment on the matter.
