Kamuzu Barracks Football Club has announced that they have parted ways with Mathews Zaulombo, Thoko Harrison and Nelson Kangunje following the team’s general performance review and the trio’s contribution during the 2023 season.
The club confirmed the development through their official Facebook page saying they have released the trio due to underperformance in the 2023 season.
The Yellow Submarines have also revered that Nation Harazi and Chimwemwe Chisambi will miss the 2024 season due to other work-related engagements while Levison Maganizo and Loyd Mugala have been given a nod following personal requests to seek opportunities away from the Club.
Commenting on the departure of the players, Kamuzu Barracks General Secretary William Nhlane thanked them for their hard-working spirit which they showed during their stay at the club.
“We wish the trio best of luck as they explore opportunities in other teams. We thank them for their spirited initiatives to support the teams objectives. At times it’s the environment that determines one’s failure or success” said Nhlane.
However, the Lilongwe based soldiers are expected to fill the gaps left by the players with others as they will sign players from other teams and from the talent identification trials that will be done from 5th to 9th February 2024.
The 2016 TNM Super League champions finished on position 5 with 46 points from 30 games in the 2023 Season in Malawi.
