MAGLA bails out 753 needy students

The Malawi Gaming and Lotteries Authority (Magla) has paid the examination fees for 753 students who failed to pay the fees to write this year’s Primary School Leaving Certificate Examination (PSLCE), Junior Certificate of Education (JCE), and Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE).

Speaking at the donation ceremony in Zomba, Magla director Rachel Mijiga said the organization made the decision following the number of students who were reported that they will miss the examination due to the economic conditions in the country.

The organization has paid K15 million as a donation to help students who are expected to write the PSLCE, JCE and MSCE examinations.

Last week, The Malawi National Examinations Board (MANEB) extended the exam fee payment period a move which was applauded by different stakeholders as they intervene by paying examination fees to needy students.
