Death has been announced of well-known musician Katelele Ching’oma.

Katelele died in the early hours of Thursday at Kamuzu Central Hospital in Lilongwe.

Musician Union of Malawi (MUM) has confirmed of the development in a statement made available to this publication.

In the statement the music mother body said it is deeply shocked with the death Ching’oma.

A letter signed by the music body’s general secretary Tonney Chitimatima says Katelele’s remains will be taken to his home, Masimo Village in Nsanje District for burial.

Katelele has died at the age of 37.
