Police Recover 186 Bags of Cement Stolen After Truck Caught Fire In Mchinji

Mchinji Police have recovered 186 bags of AgriCom cement out of the 600 that went missing after a Fermak Transport truck caught fire in Kholoni.

The truck, driven by 61-year-old Mussa Solijala, was en route to Lilongwe for unloading at Kanengo when the incident occurred.

Upon stopping to inspect the vehicle, the driver found the bags vulnerable to looting, with villagers seizing the opportunity to take them.

Authorities, led by Mchinji Police Station publicist Limbani Mpinganjira, have initiated a door-to-door search to locate the remaining 414 missing bags.

The ongoing investigation aims to uncover the circumstances of the truck fire and apprehend those responsible for the theft of the AgriCom cement.
