A fatal accident occurred when a Toyota Sienta overturned on Sunday at Luviri along the Jenda-Mzimba M1 road, resulting in the death of both the driver and a male passenger.

According to Jenda Police spokesperson Macfarlane Mseteka, the incident happened around 5 pm as the vehicle was heading from Jenda to Mzimba.

The accident was attributed to overspeeding, leading to the vehicle overturning and crashing into the nearside verge.

The impact resulted in the immediate death of both occupants, and the motor vehicle suffered extensive damage.

Details about the deceased were not immediately available.
